Upgrade Path

To determine the upgrade path between two different versions of Service Manager:

  1. Select your current Service Manager version from the Upgrade Path (From) Column.
  2. Select the Service Manager version you wish to upgrade to from the (To) Service Manager Version row.
  3. If there is a tick where the From column meets the To row then you can upgrade directly. If there is no tick then you must upgrade to another compatible version before upgrading to your desired Service Manager version.

Since version 6.0A all Service Manager sites can upgrade directly to the latest version. For versions before 6.0A this process requires one intermediate step as described below.

If you are currently on Service Manager version 5.6B and wish to upgrade to version 2020 then you must upgrade to version 6.0A, 6.0B or 2014 before upgrading to 2020. If you are using a version of Service Manager earlier than 5.3A, you must upgrade to either 5.3A, 5.3B, 5.4A or 5.5A before upgrading to 5.6A or later.

N-2 Version Support Policy

Technisoft provides support, annual product upgrades, and periodical software updates for all Technisoft customers who are current on Software Assurance.  Updates and product fixes, however are only available for the currently released version of Service Manager, as well as the two versions which precede it.  This is referred to as Technisoft’s N-2 Version Support Policy and is generally consistent with Sage’s policy for the same purpose.

In order to provide service to our customers, where possible, Technisoft will always try to accommodate fixes in versions older than N-2 if the software is not functioning as it should, but Technisoft reserves the right to charge for such fixes at its discretion if it is a non-supported version.

Technisoft only adds new features to the latest versions of its product range.
